1. What Clerk is
Clerk is an online invoicing tool for freelancers and small businesses. You can create invoices, manage clients, track payments, and send professional emails — all from your browser.
2. Your account
- You must provide accurate information when registering
- You're responsible for keeping your password secure
- One person per account — don't share credentials
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Clerk
3. Your data
You own your data. Invoices, clients, and financial records belong to you. We store them to provide the service. See our Privacy Policy for details.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use Clerk to:
- Send spam, phishing, or fraudulent invoices
- Violate any laws or regulations
- Attempt to access other users' data
- Abuse the AI assistant or API rate limits
5. Email sending
When you send an invoice or reminder, Clerk delivers it via email on your behalf. You're responsible for ensuring you have a legitimate business relationship with the recipient. We may suspend email sending if we detect abuse.
6. AI assistant
The AI assistant is provided as a convenience. It may occasionally make mistakes. Always review invoices before sending. We're not liable for AI-generated content.
7. Service availability
We aim for high uptime but can't guarantee 100% availability. We may perform maintenance with notice when possible. We're not liable for downtime or data loss beyond reasonable measures.
8. Pricing & billing
Clerk offers free and paid plans. Prices are listed on our pricing page. We'll notify you before any price changes. You can cancel at any time.
9. Termination
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. On termination, your data will be deleted per our privacy policy.
